Klondike
Derby
Saturday, February 5th. We went for the day. Indiana Dunes National Park.
Invited the Webelos II and a few Boy Scouts, had a blast. Plenty of snow and
spent about 1 hour on Devils Slide. Hot Chocolate, Hot Soup, Snow, Games, what
more could you ask for?
Armed Forces Day at Cantigny
Saturday, May 21st. It was a day to live in infamy for our Troop! The boys got a
chance to actually work the gun turret on a tank, hold sniper rifles and view
re-enactments. Add a lunch into the mix and you had the perfect day outing!
Thank You to Donna R. for all the pics.
Scoutmaster Invitational Campout
Saturday, June 11th & 12th. The Scoutmaster provided the program and the boys
provided the fun! A great way for the new Scouts to learn what is in the troop
trailer, set up camp, learn the proper way to use a stove and cook the meals.
They even did dishes, so yes parents there hands did get washed at least three
times. For a backyard campout, the kids did great.
Summer Campout at the Pure Rod & Gun Club
Friday July 22, Saturday July 23 & Sunday July 24th.
Boy did it rain at night! The boys did really good during the storm, Some wet
tents and a little gear but overall it was a great weekend for the new Scouts.
Cooking, Eating and Swimming, what more could you ask for? Just check out the
pics for yourself.
Troop Trailer is FINISHED!
Thank You to Dons Auto Body for the GREAT job on
finishing the Troop Trailer. He did the Detail Work as you can see. Thanks to
our Committee Chairman, Bill Sikorkski, he can talk a deal! Our troop trailer
was repainted by the boys 3 years ago and we have been talking about decals for
it, well Bill helped us out. With the Troop helping out the Reavis Drama Mamas &
Papas with their rummage sale and loaning them the sign, they thanked us by
doing this great air brush detail. Thanks Bob!
Hike
from Little Red Schoolhouse to Bullfrog Lake
Saturday September 17th. A great day for a hike! The
sun was shinning and the boys did good. This was about a 4 mile hike. Now for a
10 mile hike!
Special thanks to the parents that came along, I truly appreciate their
involvement in their Sons Scouting life.
