Starved Rock
Eagle Watch Outing
Saturday, January 23rd. day trip to watch the Bald Eagles.
Well, it was warmer than last year! Thanks to Mr. Sikorski for standing in line
to get the boys seats for the Birds of Prey Show. There were no Eagles present
on the river, open water and wind and fog had them scattered up and down the
river. I guess lunch at Pizza Hut was the best way to wrap up the day.
Ice Fishing
Outing
Saturday, January 30th. afternoon trip to Tampier Lake
10" of ice, plenty of equipment and bait, an ice auger that really did not work
and not even a bite!
At least the weather was decent and it was good for David to experience his
first ice fishing trip. Better yet, no one got wet!
Boy Scout
Sunday
Sunday February 7th.
We celebrated the 100th. Anniversary of Scouting in America
Our sponsor, Burbank Manor Presbyterian Church invited us to their Sunday
Service.
The Pastor, Dr. Rev. David Neff is also an Eagle Scout so he really knows what
Scouting is about!
The boys presented the Colors and collected the offering. They ALL did GREAT!
We even had a few Cub Scouts show up and help out, thanks guys!
Check out the great pics! Thanks to Milt Anderson for all his support!
U. S Grant
Pilgrimage
April 23-25, Galena IL. We had a great trip there,
it rained Friday night, Saturday AM, Chocolate Pancakes, tour Galena. More Rain.
The Civil War Re-enactors were great. They also had Revolutionary War
Re-enactors, that was cool.
Saturday night it rained, Sunday AM it rained. We had Sunshine for the ride
home, it figures. Overall it was a good trip.
Owasippee
I am still waiting for pics from the kids for this
years Owasippe trip.
Fall Pack 3634 & Troop 683 Campout
October 22 - 24, we were guests of Pack 3634 for
their annual Fall Campout. It was a great weekend at Camp Sullivan. Saturday we
hiked to Bachelors Grove Cemetery, Had a great campfire between the rain and a
game of Capture the flag Saturday night. And the best part, the boys stayed in
the cabin, real easy set up and takedown. A great time for all of us.
Fall Troop Campout
November 13-15, a backyard campout with some cold
weather. We did a 10 mile hike Saturday. Started at the NEW Little Green
Schoolhouse. It started raining, we made the decision to drive over to Red Gate
woods and hike there. Well we got to were we needed before the downpour, cooked
on a variety of hiking stoves. Really cool idea! But getting back took us a
little longer as we got a little turned around. The evening was great as the
Kriegseis family let the troop "camp" in the basement. All in all a great
starter campout for the new kids.
Christmas
Lock-In
December 17, ALL NIGHT LONG! all I can say is wow!
Big screen games, I think we had 4 tv's going at once. The Boy Scouts and
Webelos 2 had a great time. Pizza, Pop and a ton of snacks kept everyone going
all night. The parents slept in shifts and maybe got in a solid 2 hours sleep
time. Oh, yeah, the grab bag, everyone got something cool for Christmas!
