Starved Rock
Eagle Watch Outing
Saturday, January 24th. day trip to watch the Bald Eagles.
It was cold! about 10 degrees. We saw a lot of Bald Eagles, an indoor Birds of
Prey presentation and of course cooked lunch. How cold was it? By the time you
got to the end of your chili dog, it was COLD! Thanks to Adam, John and Garrett
for sharing their pictures with us.
Klondike
Derby
Friday Feb. 6th through Sunday Feb, 8th. When we got
there, we were greeted with close to 2 feet of snow! By the time we left we had
about 6 inches left. The weather was great, (50 degrees) we had snow, we had
heated bathrooms, what more could you ask for! Plenty of food, warm weather and
the leaders had a tough time agreeing on what temperature to leave the
thermostat at! Check out ALL the pictures...
First
Aid Meet
Saturday, February 28th. 7:30 @ St. Germaines
Church. We had TWO dedicated Scouts attend. They did their best. At least
Garrett did not die this year! They we very surprised to see the "Eye Injury".
The Order of the Arrow put this event on this year and the "injuries" were very
realistic! Check out the pictures.
Rummage
Sale
Set Up Thursday March 19th. The Sale was Friday and
Saturday March 20-21.
We did GREAT! This was the best ever for set-up and take down!
Everyone really pitched in the make this a success! The boys did good, even
modeling some of the clothes..

Reptile
Fest
Saturday April 4th. at the
University of Illinois at Chicago,
P.E.Building, 901 W. Roosevelt Road
They had Snakes, Lizards, Frogs, Toads, Iguanas, Alligators, Crocodiles, all
kinds of Reptiles!
Check out the pics, The kids had a great time! It is to bad my camera did not
want to focus when they sat with a HUGE snake.
Nonetheless, it was very interesting!
Webelos/Troop Backyard Campout
Friday April 17 - Saturday April 19 The Troop and Webelos I & II of Pack 3634
spent the evening in the Scoutmasters/Webelos I & II leaders backyard. Shawn,
Nathan and Garrett did a great job helping the Webelos and even taught them how
to play capture the flag.
Green & Gold Dinner
Sunday April 19th. This year it was a catered affair. The Food was from
Chi-Tung, some great Chinese food! Plenty to eat and great company. We even had
1 Merit Badge to award! Congrats to John for his Citizenship in the World!
Everyone had a great time! Thanks to all for your help.
Spring
Camp-O-Ree
Friday April 24th - Sunday April 26. The theme was "Best Breakfast Ever" Each
Troop had to cook its best breakfast and be judged by the District Judges. It
started out as a warm weekend, turned cold and rainy real fast! A tough weekend
for us.
Webelos Crossover Pack 3634-Troop 683
Friday May8th - Sunday May 10. This was an invitational camp out from Pack 3634
to camp out at Camp Sullivan and crossover one Webelos Scout to Troop 683.
Welcome Matthew to Troop 683! Thanks to Candace and crew for a GREAT
weekend. A little windy for us but at least nothing landed in Oz.
June
Campout @ The Pure Rod & Gun Club
June 26, 27, 28 at the Pure Rod and Gun Club. What a great time! We welcomed
Frank to meet us as he is going to Owasippe this year with us. Thanks to Mr.
Fiene & Garrett for taking these pictures. Is was HOT
but we survived. Some good fishing, Canoeing and Boat Fishing (see the
pics for this one). A good weekend was had by all.

Campout @ The Pure Rod & Gun Club
July 17, 18, 19 at the Pure Rod and Gun Club. Whiteline Campout! Kids VS. Adults
Friday night snack, Adults Pizza, Kids Pizza Pudgy Pies
Saturday Breakfast, Adults Biscuits & Gravy. Kids Pancakes
Saturday Lunch, Adults, Tater Tots, Ham & Cheese Casserole, Kida Hamburgers &
Hot Dogs
Saturday Dinner, Adults Smoked Turkey Breast, Asparagus, Stuffing and Poundcake with
Berries and whipped cream
Kids, still full from lunch, we went and visited the Christmas in July party and
they had Hotdogs and Polish Sausage
It was a great time! Thanks to Neil for bringing the kids and the trailer out.
Trailer
Painting Project
Sunday July 26th. We have finally painted the trailer! All the boys worked to
remove the decals and prep it.
Sunday, Adam, Shawn and Garrett along with Mr. Sikorski and Mr. Kriegseis
finished the project.
It came out great and best of all, the Boys did 90% of the work. They learned to
use a spray gun.
We now have to letter it and wax it. Check out the pictures!
The
Great Scout Event
August 28-29-30. What a weekend! Popcorn Training, Roundtable, Reptile Shows,
Native American Dancers, Pizza, High Adventure, Fall Camp-O-Ree plus Two (2)
Live bands and Sunday Church Service. What more could you ask for? Our boys did
good with a Team Building Games Booth. They showed Cub Scouts and the general
public how by working as a team you can accomplish a hard task. Check out the
pics. If anyone should have more pics, please e-mail them to the Scoutmaster.
Fall
Camp-O-Ree
October 16-17-18. Cycling Theme by our very own Tom Grigoletti. A great weekend.
The weather was perfect for a 18 mile bike hike. Troop 665 joined us on the
trail and we all made it! The Saturday dinner was picture perfect.
Fall
Court of Honor
October 19th. After a good year at Owasippe and a few other ambitious young men
managed to earn a few more Merit Badges. We have two Scouts working their way
towards the rank of Eagle Scout. C'mon guys, you can do it!
Lock-In Christmas
Party
December 18 - 19, Annual Troop / Webelos Lock In. We started at 7:00 PM, the
boys set up video games on the big screen, and 8 pizzas and grab-bag gifts
later, they all had fun! We had the ENTIRE Troop and 4 Webelos show up! Even the
adult leaders go some sleep! WOW, this was the best Lock In ever! Merry
Christmas boys!
